With Matrix I introduced a new type of moire patterning motion. For the first time in my work with moires I’ve broken away from radial designs and found something new and very interesting. The slightly curved lines of these matching wheels create a moving cross hatch pattern that changes quite dramatically as the wheels change speed and direction of motion.

DCR:Yes, the clicking sound is the wood escapement pawls striking small brass pins. It is not very loud and hard to pick out on the video.
